GRMS Compliance FAQs
GRMS, now known as Achilles Veritas, is a third-party compliance system that evaluates and monitors suppliers to ensure they meet client-specific risk management criteria. This includes reviews of your:
Business legitimacy and W-9 documentation
Financial health and bankruptcy status
OSHA records and safety performance metrics
Insurance coverage and COI verification
Business licenses, litigation history, and more
Following its acquisition by Achilles, all GRMS contractors are being transitioned to the Veritas platform—Achilles’ North American supplier compliance solution.
To meet GRMS compliance requirements—now managed under Achilles Veritas—contractors and suppliers must submit a variety of documents that demonstrate business legitimacy, insurance coverage, safety performance, and regulatory compliance. While requirements can vary depending on the client, here are the most commonly required documents for GRMS certification:
✅ W-9 Form (or W-8 for international vendors)
✅ Business License and legal registration documents
✅ Certificate of Insurance (COI) with proper policy limits and client-specific endorsements
✅ OSHA 300 and 300A Logs for the past three years
✅ Experience Modification Rate (EMR) Letter
✅ Written Safety Program (IIPP, HAZCOM, etc.)
✅ Subcontractor Management Policy (if applicable)
✅ Litigation and bankruptcy disclosures (if relevant)
✅ EEO/Non-discrimination and Code of Conduct policies
✅ Tax ID (TIN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN)
These documents are used to evaluate your company’s risk profile, safety history, and ability to meet client-specific prequalification standards within the GRMS / Achilles Veritas platform.
A GRMS account—now integrated into the Achilles Veritas platform—serves as a third-party compliance and prequalification system used by large organizations to screen and approve contractors, vendors, and suppliers. The primary purpose of a GRMS account is to verify that your business meets critical risk management standards in areas such as:
✅ Insurance coverage
✅ Workplace safety performance
✅ Regulatory compliance
✅ Business legitimacy and financial stability
Companies like Darden Restaurants, Hilton, Equinix, Best Buy, and CBRE use GRMS / Achilles Veritas to protect their brand, reduce liability, and ensure they’re working with qualified partners. If you’re bidding on work or providing services to a company that uses GRMS, maintaining a compliant and up-to-date GRMS account is essential for doing business with them.
Being GRMS certified—now commonly referred to as Achilles Veritas certified—means that your company has successfully completed the third-party prequalification process required by GRMS and approved by major clients. A GRMS certification indicates that your business meets critical compliance standards in the areas of:
✅ General liability, auto, and workers’ compensation insurance
✅ OSHA safety performance and EMR rating
✅ Business licensing and legal standing
✅ Financial risk and bankruptcy disclosure
✅ Ethical, nondiscrimination, and subcontractor policies
Once your documentation has been reviewed and accepted by the GRMS / Achilles Veritas compliance team—and you’ve met all client-specific thresholds—your account is marked as certified or approved, allowing you to work with companies that require GRMS compliance.
Clients like Darden Restaurants, Best Buy, Hilton Hotels, and Equinix rely on GRMS-certified vendors to ensure safety, reduce liability, and maintain high operational standards across their supply chains.
The time it takes to become GRMS certified—now through the Achilles Veritas platform—can vary depending on the complexity of your business and how quickly you can provide the required documentation.
At Cascade QMS, we help our clients get GRMS certified fast by managing every step of the process—from registration to documentation uploads and issue resolution. In many cases, we can help you reach compliance in as little as 3–5 business days, depending on your starting point and responsiveness.
If you’re in a time crunch or trying to meet a client deadline, contact us today for expedited GRMS / Achilles Veritas account setup and management.
On average, the GRMS certification process takes between 5 to 15 business days for a business professional, without Cascade QMS.
Several factors can affect the timeline:
📄 Document readiness – Delays often occur when documents like COIs, OSHA logs, or safety manuals are incomplete or missing.
🏢 Client-specific requirements – Some clients using GRMS/Achilles Veritas may require more detailed compliance checks or additional forms.
🔁 Response time – If you or your insurance provider delay responding to document rejections or revisions, certification will take longer.
✅ Use of a professional service – Working with a compliance partner like Cascade QMS can significantly shorten the process.
Yes, you most certainly can. We recommend addressing each step individually and utilizing customer service resources. If time and a lack of safety programs is a concern, Cascade QMS is an option to quicken the process and streamline your compliance. We offer custom support options to assist you along the way!
